Chrome Overlay Plate consists of a high-carbon steel base plate with a metallurgically bonded chromium carbide overlay on one or both sides. The overlay layer—typically 3mm to 12mm thick—contains chromium carbides that create an extremely hard, abrasion-resistant surface. This combination delivers the wear resistance of exotic alloys with the structural strength and weldability of carbon steel backing.
